POLYUREA
is a seamless membrane that can be handled and walked on within 5 minutes or less from the time it is sprayed.
Originating from machines such as the Gusmer H-3500 the plural components arrive at the spray gun tip at a temperature of 170°. Six seconds after spraying, the Polyurea mix is 100% solids.
Unlike polyurethanes and epoxies, POLYUREA is hydrophobic and therefore affected very little by damp or cold surfaces during application.
POLYUREA is 100% solids. No solvents, no V.O.C.s released during application or curing.
Due to its very fast gel time, POLYUREA can be built up to any thickness in one application including vertical and overhead surfaces. Eliminates need for multi-coat applications.
POLYUREA has high temperature stability.
POLYUREA History
Developed in the early 1980s for rapid process applications, Polyurea elastomeric coatings displayed several qualities that set them above previous epoxy and polyurethane coatings including
:
Fast, consistent reactivity and cure
Moisture and temperature insensitivity during application
Exceptional elastomeric quality
Hydrolytically stable, i.e., very low water absorption
High thermal stability
Auto-catalytic - no solvents - no VOCs
